Malmborg's Garden Center & Greenhouse

Malmborg's is partnering with the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association to offer plastic pot recycling to our retail customers. During the retail season, bins will be located outside of our garden centers for collecting plastic nursery pots. We will be re-using the pots from our greenhouse and bring the rest of the pots to the recycling center.

In the garden center this year, you will notice that our trees and shurbs come in a wide variety of pots. We were able plant almost half of our trees and shrubs in recycled pots provided by our customers.

• Rainwater collection and reuse (approx. 700,000 gallons per year)
• Recycling of plastic greenhouse covering
• Recycling used plastic greenhouse containers
• Cardboard recycling
• Office paper recycling
• Aluminum can, glass & plastic bottle recycling
• Electric carts with no emissions
• Natural/Organic Products department in the retail store
• Introduction of the pot-less plant, Ellepot, with no plastic waste
• Customer plastic pot recycling
